1. New Home - We've been looking for a larger apartment in a quieter area since about the beginning of the year, but we weren't having much luck. Around the end of April though, we found a really perfect 2-family house in Maynard that has just the space & look we've been hoping for. We'll have a few added hundred square feet, which includes a 2nd bedroom, a dining room and a 4-season porch. The place has tons of storage, allows us to have a dog, plus has a nice back yard- which is a bonus. We signed the lease and will be moving in at the end of June! I'm glad the timing hits mid-summer because we've been desperately needing more space and we'll be all settled and set before the wedding hits.
2. Engagement Party - Since our wedding would be mainly family, we had been planning a friend get-together in the summer to celebrate with the majority of our buddies who won't be able to fit at our wedding. We booked an afternoon at a local, festive pool hall and are having the party in the middle of July. A few weeks back, my MOH and I assembled all the invites (found great deals via papersource and milkweedcafe) and we're already starting to get RSVP's. The resturant is catering the food and we'll be doing some sort of homemade dessert, so really all that's left to figure out is the favors. AND, I have an awesome future sister-in-law who's already volunteered her time in helping with those. :)
3. Caterers - We've done a bit of searching and found 2 caterers we're equally excited about. Hopefully will be doing some taste tests over the next few months. We've even figured out the types of food/theme we want to go for involving the wedding meal. Success!
4. Dress Search - I actually have a date this coming weekend with Kev's Mom & Sisters (& little niece!) to go do some rummaging and searching for "the dress". I'll post an update once we tackle that task.
